The St. James Theatre is a 312〔 seat theatre in London's West End which opened on 18 September 2012.〔 It was built on the site of the former Westminster Theatre, which was damaged by a fire in 2002 and subsequently demolished.〔
Described as "the first newly built theatre complex in central London for 30 years",〔 the building was designed by Foster Wilson Architects.〔 It features a 312 seat theatre and a 120 capacity studio theatre.〔 Robert Mackintosh is the theatre's Creative Director.〔("Team" ), ''St James Theatre''. The theatre began its debut season in September 2012 with the London premiere of Sandi Toksvig's ''Bully Boy''.〔
Performances in the 312 seat auditorium run for between 2 - 10 weeks with the Studio Theatre shows changing almost nightly with a range of jazz, comedy, cabaret, music and theatre.
